Field Walk - August 1, 2017

The wheat heads have popped up above most weeds, except Canada Thistle and wild oats.
In regards to BRIX:

• Wheat heads are 13%; stocks are 14%
• Spelt (volunteer from last year's crop) heads are 15%; stocks are 8%
• Canada Thistles are 6.5%
• Wild Oats heads are 12%; stocks are 9.5%

In theory, if there are any bugs lurking around, they should attack the weeds.

It's tough to protect when she can't see, but she does her best!
